I will be using the function 7 inlet and return flanges (I think they are the same as the tunertoys)... if I dont use a gasket will these leak... and if so will copper spray be sufficient instead of a gasket?

I agree, you should buy, or make some gaskets, and definitely use a good RTV to seal the deal. Copper spray is not appropriate for this application.

so you use a gasket and sealant? I think I will get a gasket and seal with hondabond

You could just get a sheet of gasket material (mr. gasket makes them) and cut out the size gaskets that you need... that would be super cheap!

I'll give you some ghetto *** advice my friend gave to me in a pinch:

My oil inlet flange didn't come with a gasket and of course leaked like a civ. Cut out a cereal box to match the flange, coated both sides with copper spray (better if you find cardboard not coated with glossy stuff so the copper will stick better). I'll be damned if that bitch hasn't leaked since - and that was 3 months ago.

yea, might be easier for you just to buy the gasket already made and cut out for you, unless you are a diy person

Sorry to bring this back up, but I'm about to order the function7 flange on ebay. According to the auction description, the flanges are "machined" in a way so that they don't require a gasket.

I don't really get it, but they seem to think their flanges don't require a gasket. And the sellers have positive feedback, not "Your flange leaked oil everywhere" kind of feedback.

All they mean is that the mating surface of the flange is true(straight) so if the trubo inlet side is also true, there is no need for a gasket as both surfaces are true and will seal perfetly. The only reason it would leak without a gasket is if one of the surfaces are not 100% true.
