b16 & front trans mount braket

Default b16 & front trans mount braket

i have a 90 civic SI. i have been told i need to bang down the front trans braket or it wont fit. i got a hammer and wailed on these 2 brakets for 10 minutes, can anyone provide some pics on how far i have to bend these down so everything will fit???

If you are using a three mount kit like the hasport or place racing kit just cut off the bracket. I didn't do anything to mine and I got the engine and transmission in fine using the hasport kit.

be sure you know which bracket we are talking about!!! it's the one on the black front cross member...

i didn't have any troubles.. b16a 1990 Si with hasport billits..

yes i am also talking aboutt he bracket on the front crossmember. last time i asked this question everyone in here said they had to cut theirs. so now ive moved mine and everyone changed their story : /

uses all four motor mounts.. front, left, right, and rear

that was kinda funny devin, i used the hasport billet and it cleared just fine, but i took it out anyway just in case. what i did was take a drill to the spot welds a then just kinda bent it off, then took a grinder to smooth it out and painted over it. you cant even tell where it was now, and i always plan on staying b-series so im not too worried about it.

i evan bought the place racing front cross member but, the fu*!ing brackets that come with it dont line up with the mount..............i now need to get some custom made ...... a few more bucks into the $$$pit

sawzall! I think we had a clearance problem because we didnt smash in the rear crossmember. I think that makes the motor a little diff angle...

my motor mounts are FOUR chromaly mounts with polyurethane bushings... the car shakes more than the motor. ill show you guys pics of the mounts.

you clip down the edges of the rear crossmember so that it wont hit the tranny bracket.
