Icon6 blue/ grey smoke is coming out and im not sure what it means

hey,
I have a 91 integra ls. Recently smoke started to come out and it was probably my fault; I overfilled it with oil. So I drained the oil and put it where it should be. But it still kept on smoking. A friend told me to try and put thicker oil, so I did. But it hasnt helped either. Now Im starting to think it might be the o-rings or somethings wrong with my heads. Im not sure what it might be, and if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated.

No. It just leaked oil from the oil pan so i would usually add a quart once a week. But i didnt check before adding it this time and it overfilled. And as soon as i started running it, it smoked up. I think it probably had close to five or six quarts inside when it smoked up.

Holy ****, 5-6 quarts? Which was it?? Did you change the filter too? If not, you probably over-filled it and it blew a seal, they only need about 3.8-4 quarts if you change the oil and not the filter.

BTW if it's leaking from the pan, spend the $30 and hour and a half (if you've never done it before) and replace the pan gasket.

Blue smoke means it's burning oil. BTW, There's never a need to put thicker oil. To bandage one problem will only cause another.

A few questions:

1. Does it smoke constantly or only for a bit after its been sitting for a while, like the first start in the morning and\or after being stopped a light for a few minutes?

2. Have you taken the spark plugs out to see if there is any oil on the tips, if yes which ones? Make sure you put them back in the same cylinder you take them out from.

Please check these things and report back, thanks.

You probably have worn rings, worn cylinders or a valve stem leak.
