Default 178whp is this about right?

my friend has a gsr block 12.2cr pistons b16 head with crower 2 3/4 cams springs retainers type r intake manifold and throttle body edelbrock 4-2-1 headers 2.5 exhaust car was tuned with 93 pump crome 12.9 -13.0 af/r on a dynojet car made 178whp at 7800rpm the power started to fall after that but after 8000rpm the power fell really bad rev limiter 8500 vtec 4200 vtec was set low because it was making more power than the low cam from 4000 and up

it would have made an extra 35 hp if you had a pissing kid sticker,an aem sticker and a giant wing oh and painting the car a neon colour adds another 40hp just my 2 cents!

buddy one of the major rules here are theres no bench racing/hp guessing but if you ask me that does sound low for all that work if there really is such a thing hence alot of people here are e-builders,but if soo what kind of dyno and was it sae corrected?

vtec being set low shouldnt affect top end cuz it will still be engaged at high rpm. the b16 head could possibly be an issue, being designed for 1.6L flow, it could run out of air at high rpm since its trying to flow more air. id look at the map and airflow readings during the run. also are the injectors big enough?

Sounds like the cams need dialed in. That setup should make peak power near 8.5krpm IMO

i like this thought,

does it have adjustable cam gears?

4k sounds WAY too low for vtec to be helping especially with those mods, if the cams are off, the power band could be moved lower in the rpm range.......thus running out of power at high rpm.

being able to see the graph would help.

I had Crower 3 cams in my 11.5:1 B16. really simple setup, 68mm TB, AEBS cheap *** IM, DC 4-2-1 header. Cams dialed in to card specs, made peak HP at 9300 rpm.

Whats the compression on all cylinders? I had a similar issue with an LSvtec build it made 172hp a week later it did 193hp turns out the rings did not seal all the way. Oh and what rings you using?
