So my 95 h22a civic hatchback has an egr code # 12
I have gone through the service manual a good 10 times just find out I should replace my failed ECU ((: I have not substituted a known good ecu.

the ports in the intake manifold are clean..When I take the egr valve off and turn on the engine a lot of exhaust comes out of the exhaust port and I have major sucking vacuum power in the vacuum/intake port.

I am really starting to flip out cuz I can't find the answer no matter how long I work on it.

The only components in the code 12 system are the EGR valve, EGR solenoid and vacuum diaghram, some hoses, and wire to the ecu. WHY THEN CAN"T I FIGURE IT OUT!!?

Did the swap that you put into your car come with everything need for the egr system. If all you have is the egr valve itself than that is your problem, i have an h22 in my ek and all i have is the egr valve and i always get the code 12. There is nothing that can be done unless you use p28/hondata s300 and you can turn any sensors off that you want. Hope i helped.
