Default zc swap into 1996 civic ex?

I found a ZC on Hmotorsonline, but wasn't sure if it will plug and play to the OBDII or if I have to do pinning. IF I have to do that I'm not going to be able to accomplish that task and I'm going to have to buy another D16y8. Any help would be appreciated. If you know, do the ZC's have better bottom ends or am I better off sticking with a d16y8?

so i've been searching around here in Nebraska, and I could only find one d16 in the area, not enough budget to ship, and I found a d16y7 long block. Should I just do a mini me swap?

Do you even know what goes into a swap like that? If you couldn't do the ZC swap you won't be able to do this one.

It has nothing to do with the mechanical aspect, it has to do with the monetary aspect. I can't afford to buy the ZC and purchase the transmission and have it shipped from Cali to here due to medical expenses...heart diseases aren't cheap problems. Since the d16y7 is exactly like my engine minus the y8 cylinder head which directly bolts up to the block, I'm not very worried about popping out the other, lining the mini-me up with the transmission and bolting it back up. I don't need to know how dto do it anways because I'll be mainly assisting while my step dad, an ASE mechanic who worked for Honda for 22 years, does all the labor. I'm just footing the bill and buying him a steak dinner.

Okay, so I'm going to do a mini-me d16y7/y8 head into my 96 ex, so i'm just going to transplant the head, intake and exhaust manifold over and bolt it up. Is there anything else I need to do since my car is already wired up with vtec?

well I was going to but its more cost effective to get the d16y8 long block which is here in town and I can pick it up, plus the company that owns the recycler's is in Arizona so I don't have to pay sales tax. If anyone else has insight what else I need to do a mini-me swap, than drop it in to my 96 civic ex let me know please.
