my manual transmission in my d16y8 is slowly dying. there is a noise coming from the transmission. it goes away when i push the clutch in so think it is a bearing on the clutch. a buddy of mine suggested it was a throw out bearing but i don't know enough about transmissions to make a decision. also when i left off the gas in second gear it will pop out of gear and grind until i push it away from second. i am wondering if i have to get a whole new tranny or is it worth it to try to take it off and have it fixed. i am also considering a whole new engine if it going to cost close to a new engine.
