Default 96 civc (d16y8) squeaking

Looking for some help?? i got a 96 civic with a d16y8 and am having this horrible squeaking sound coming form around my timing belt and alternator. I know that is not my alternator or my power steering because i have removed the belts and it still does it. I changed my water pump and timing belt pulley thinking that was the problem but still nothing. right after i changed the parts i got it back together and it seamed to be good. i let it sit and get to running temp and no sound. I drove it about 15 mile and turned it of when i come back out i started it up and the squeaking was back. i notice that when i have a load on the motor the squeak goes way. but when i let off form accelerating it comes back. any help would be great thanks!!!

Does the sound go away when the clutch pedal is pushed down?

Have you tried to pinpoint the noise with an engine stethoscope?

You know the general area where the sound is coming from, but not exactly. A $5 stethoscope will help you precisely pinpoint the noise so you are not guessing.

I have already speculated too much. Engine noises can be tricky. Don't guess. Take the time to properly pinpoint the noise.

Possibly. Seriously, my engine stethoscope cost me $3 at Harbor Freight Tools.

Timing belt tension is too tight so the tensioner is screaming from too much load. loosen up the timing belt a lil bit and it should go away. Seen it happen quite a few times.

If you tensioned your timing belt as described in the service manual, then it should be fine.
