first off, i am not sure if i posted this in the right section. but i just finished rebuilding the trans on my jdm b16a, and now it is extremely hard to put it in first, when it is cold 1st is almost useless. after everything warms up, you have to hold the shifter or it pops out of gear easily. i rebuilt the tranny myself with new syncros and bearings. the tranny stays in all other gears just fine and does not grind

did i do something wrong internally???

do i need to adjust the shift linkage???

the shift linkage bushings are a little sloppy, could this be the problem???

it probably is internal are you sure all the blocker rings were on the syncros cuz if the one on 1st was left off it will cause the gear to pop out

 

blocker rings are on, i am 120% sure

 

did you check all the free play in the shafts while you wereputtin it back together

 

i think i just figured out what is wrong. i forgot to put th washer at the bottom of the countershaft.
