Default harness issues

I have a bone stock 97 5spd cx hatch. My tire blew out and desroyed my headlight harness. It also destroyed the harness its plugs in to at the firewall (Blue, and grey clip). I bought a headlight harness, but was unaware that theres a difference between an auto version and the manual version even tho the clips are the same. My question is can i run an auto cabin harness with out cel issuses, or any other small problem i might encounter? Thanks in advance .

Thanks i just wanna be sure, because thats what i thought about the headlight harness. The clip were the same but were pinned differently. The blue clip (5spd) has ten wires (auto) has 8wire. same thing with the grey clip, theres an extra wire on the auto harness.

that extra wire is more than likely for torque converter lock up. either way your harness wont matter, as long as you are still using a 5spd ecu. if your car is a stick. if your car is an auto then use an auto ecu. using an auto ecu on a manual car will throw a t/c lock up code (and maybe a couple others) but shouldn't effect driveability.

if you are really that concerned about it i'd just depin all the wires that got messed up from your new harness and re pin them into your old harness to keep things from getting mixed up. just make sure you match up all the wires correctly

thanks for the help. the two extra wires are on the 5spd harness. i just make sure before i spend more on a harness that mite not work. repin isnt an option on the original harness, because it was snapped in half. The other half was left in the fast lane of the 5n.
