06' TL 3rd gear bulletin?
I have had my 6-speed TL for a few weeks now, and I've noticed some difficulty in shifting into 3rd gear. Sometimes it will grind, other times it will feel notchy, but for the most part it's ok.
I brought my car to the local dealer to have it PA inspected; (since I bought the car from a New Jersey Acura dealer) and the service writer said that it is indeed a common problem. He also said that there was a recall/bulletin out regarding the problem as well..so I'm just wondering if any fellow MT TL owners have had the same problem!

There is a minor synchroniser weakness that affects some gearboxes for some drivers. Although it is seldom bad enough to require a fix (most six speed drivers don't even notice it), there are many drivers who are perfectionists enough to require that it be fixed.
I have never seen one bad enough that it crunches or that it pops out of gear...but I do sometimes hear those stories.

The six speed that is being manufactured right now for the 305 HP Acura TL SH-AWD is a unit that is substantially improved upon, partly in consequence of the Honda and Acura users who have complained about this issue.

Thank you George for your reply! It's never popped out of gear, but on some occasions it requires a bit of force to shift to third..or it does grind.
I'm going to call the dealer on Monday, I will update the thread with what they tell me.
