Default GE lsvtec dowel pin location

I installed my GE lsvtec dowel pins in these locations..the dowel "big end" in the block and the small end going into the head, and everything fits just fine..(using a LS HG btw)

i was told they will work here, and basicly all they do is align the head gasket..

will this work??

thanks

Wait what?
No, they mate a ls block with a vtec head. That location is incorrect, dowels go on the outter holes on the exhaust side of the block. Also the small side goes into the block, big side into the head. Hope this helps.

... Oh and you should use a vtec gasket, not the LS, but that's another topic.

that is 100% the wrong place to put the dowels the small end goes in the block the big end goes in the heads stock dowl location and you should be using a vtec gasket as well here is a write up on why the vtec gasket is the better gasket to use hope it helps you out

i would not leave them there. they need to be in the right location to insure proper head aliment. now I'm 100% sure you got a vtec gasket there. not sure who told you it was ls gasket it its not it is a vtec gasket.

so when using Golden eagle dowel pins it stays in factory dowel ports and use a vtec head gasket ?? would anything fail if you use an ls head gasket instead or no ?? my buddy put together a motor with those dowels and he used ls head gasket

probly depends on where he got it from.
just make sure the copper rivets are not pinched in.

i personally used a B20 gasket, but from our parts source (worldpac) and the rivets are fine.

Are you dumb or retarded? You were told by Golden Eagle not to leave them as it is now because your head will not be properly aligned, and you still ask if anything will fail?
