Default Gauge Swap Problem

Okay so I swapped out my gauges from the stock DX cluster to an EX. Everything worked great, and a few hours later, my feul/temp gauges didn't work. I took it apart, cleaned up the copper, and plugged it back in. Worked great, now my speedo stopped working. I noticed on the cluster I got (from a junk yard), that the pieces were corroded on the copper and whatnot. Do you think this is causing the problem?
