Icon4 newbie coupe owner

HI..sry if you guys dont do intros like this but i felt its the best way to start and introduce myself. My girlfriend just got a 1994 Honda Civic Dx as her first car and she wanted to join a forum. Its and auto(yea i know, she didnt want a manual as her first car). Her car needs a little work like a new front bumper and hood as well as head lights....the rest of the car is pretty solid...interior is good and it still runs good. She eventually wants to get some rims and lower it and maybe a new engine with a lil bit more power than her d15b7. But yea let me know what you think ill post some pics right now but ill take better ones later...

Turqouise is her favorite color lol

if she only wants a bit more pep to her d15

you can do a mini-me swap with a vtec head for a bit more pep

also getting a camshaft would be great,

then turbo it and turn it into a monster

yea she wants vtec...but i dont think she would handle turbo lol...i was thinking like a b18a1...i see alot of those at the junk yard and theyre a little bit more powerful than the d15. but i just might get is rebuilt or something...she wants to "make it look nice first lol"

I'd get a B18B1 instead. They are OBD1 and 2, easier to swap and an extra 10 HP compared to the A1's.

That would require a manual swap though.

They could do an automatic b18 swap, it's probably actually cheaper and easier to come across that way because most people practically give away auto trannies.

if she wants looks i'd show her the rotawheels.com website. they have some awesome wheels and some of them at my pro wheel shop are outrageous cheap (like 700 for "16's WITH tires)

Ok then how do you go about doing an auto swapped B18? I haven't seen one before. Any pics, or links would be great.

Yeah sure, lets google it, b/c that's where all the best answers some from. Nothing solid ever pops up. Do you have an actual thread that has the info? Wouldn't be asking if I haven't tried it before. Everyone is the same 'don't do it' 'waste of time' etc etc. You say keep it auto, then show me an auto thread. I personally think it would be interesting.

Yea her favorite color is turqouise so she fell in love with it once she saw it....what about smog? If I swap the motor she wouldn't be able to pass would she? Wouldn't it be better if I just got it rebuilt? I don't know what swaps are feasable and not feasable. She isn't worried about big power she just wants a cool DD

If the engine is set-up right smog should be easy, but I know CA laws are strict, so do your research, but if you get an ls and swap it in, you should be able to get it BAR'd without to much problems as long as it's USDM and all the emission equipment is working and it looks stock.

that was really the only thing i wasn't 100% positive on it.

i did the google search because i've never done the auto to auto swap personally and to sit here and bullshit you about it wouldn't be anymore fruitful than you beginning your own search.

that quote was taken from this thread
https://honda-tech.com/forums/showth...matic+b18+swap
i searched h-t with keywords automatic b18 swap, alot of results but i don't have the time or patience to search through and gather all the information for something i don't care that much about.

a auto b series in a auto eg shouldnt be any harder then a normal swap, everything should line up and bolt in find youll just need to wiring in a ls tranny ecu....

there has been a few of these done and everything worked great, one thread that i have seen had everything working but wired up the trans's computer wrong so it would shift by it self, but you could manualy change it.
