Default Question about swap

Ok so I'm looking on HMO and found a motor I want to buy. Does anyone know how much shipping costs? Also where can I buy some inexpensive motor mounts, axles and half shaft or should I just get the ones with the swap? Thanks

I think it is around $300 for shipping? I'm pretty sure they have to deliver it to a buisness or the local place for you to pick up. I would just get the complete changover.

Yeah thats what I was thinking but damn $300? I guess It's an engine though. Does HMO have the best deals or is there another site with better prices and are still legit?

call steve in the morning and ask him about shipping because it varies, from day to day even...

you can get shipped to your door, you just need to pay extra for a lift gate(truck with a little hydraulic lift on it)

the mounts depend on what car you are swapping into. when i did my swap, i used all OE mounts, but of course had to source a few things. same thing with axles. ideally, you can use all OE stuff, but what you get with the swap package might not necessarily be ideal for your particular swap. keep in mind we have subforum on h-t dedicated specifically to hybrids. there is a handy FAQ in there with a ton of swap tech and walk-throughs.

steve usually is as helpful as possible, but he always seems to try to refrain from getting too technical about what will work in whatever car because he doesn't want to responsible for anything other than the products he sells. he is a VERY good guy though and stands behind his stuff 100%.

what engine is it, specifically?

also, favorite this thread - https://honda-tech.com/forums/hybrid-engine-swaps-18/%2A%2A%2Aokay-lets-cut-down-repeated-qs-about-certain-swaps-post-links-here%2A%2A%2A-650230/

it has EVERYTHING in it re: swap info ; )

oh, damn, well, afaik that will literally drop in to a 5th gen civic using the SIR II mounts, axles, etc.

when i got my swap from steve, i ended up getting the complete setup with linkage, mounts and axles from the donor car, but i had a 6th gen and needed to source some of my own stuff.

life is easier if you have a 5th gen. if you do get the OE mounts, i'd look into mount inserts. the axles are hit or miss since they are used but typically they are very useable.

no, it's no different than the other 5th gens. you should be good, the header that comes with the motor should even bolt right up to your existing exhaust.

good luck, let's see a build thread.
