swap shipping
i was told by someone on another forum that when your swap arrives, you need to have an engine hoist available so the shipping company doesn't charge you an extra $100 to unload it from the truck. this sounds like to me. does anyone know anything about this?

Re: swap shipping (H22Ej1)
yeah, thats what i thought. i should have one available anyways because i need to get it on a stand so i can start pulling it apart when i get it, but i'd rather wait till i have the money to buy an inexpensive stand rather than borrowing one from a friend. thanks . anyone else?

Thats true. I guess it depends on who is shipping the motor. But if you dont have the equipment to unload the motor they do charge you a $100 Dollars or more to unload it.
Alot of websites say to have equipment or a few friends to unload motor to avoid that fee.

They only charge you extra when it's a residential delivery rather than a commercial one, when u order the engine they always ask, they do charge u a bit xtra for residential delivery[ 4 some reason?]. The engines all usually come in crates, u should'nt have to worry about a hoist.

Re: swap shipping (pliskin8)
hmmm... okay. i'll have to get ahold of a hoist then, or something. when i ordered the engine from osaka, they never asked me if it was to a residential address. so i don't really know what's gonna happen.

when I was shopping for a swap in 03, I was considering them, then I did search on h-t, and it seemed like I should buy from somewhere else, I went with hmotorsonline.com, 90k later still doesn't burn oil even with M1. It just seems like some people had bad expierences with them back then, maybe they have changed idk
