I need help with axle and halfshaft pics inside
So I'm trying to figure out where is this halfshaft from...I took this of off my 96 gs-r to buy the right axles and it looks nothing like the one its supposed to be. Does anyone know where is this halfshaft from??
That is an intermediate shaft (or "lay shaft") for the driver's side CV axle. They were designed for FWD vehicles so both half shafts can be about the same length to help prevent what is called torque-pull or torque-steer (when the vehicle experiences a pull to one side under hard acceleration). Most FWD cars now have these. It looks like all you need to replace is the carrier bearing on it since it looks like you damaged yours removing the CV half shaft from it.
More information is needed to help you.
Why are you replacing the axles?
Is this the stock motor/trans or is it swapped?
etc.
