Icon2 Viper alarm issues

I have the Viper 350hv alarm and have had it for about 4 years. For the past couple of weeks whenever I go out to disarm/arm it it will sometimes not chirp or for example, when you disarm the alarm it chirps twice but will only do so once and it is a weak chirp.

It is making me nervous since I am not in the best area and don't want my alarm to malfunction and not arm or something.

Any ideas? I plan on stopping by Best Buy once I can make the trip back home to get the receipt for it.

Im no pro by any means, but I would suggest maybe checking the alarm brain ground. I had a bad ground once and mine had a weak chirp and sometimes didnt work at all.

Ditto the above^^^.

First thing I would do is check the alarms ground, and if the siren ground is in the engine bay, [it should be at the same place as the alarm ground] check it also. 94

do doors still lock/unlock? does it still arm and just not chirp? cause it could just be an issue with your siren

Sorry for the late reply guys, but heres an update. Any thoughts? Its driving me crazy and makes me stressed out @ night knowing my alarm isn't working right.

I'll start from the beginning:

So In the past month my Viper 350hv has been random chirping when I unlock/lock or arm the system. Sometime it won't chirp @ all but the doors lock and the led flashes or it will be a weak chip or chirp once when its supposed to do it twice. Then if I arm it and shut the door my lights blink but there is no noise.

I replaced the fob remote battery. No success.

Took it to BB and they say ground problem. Fixed it and it worked for one arming cycle.

Took it back to BB on Sunday and they gutted the old alarm and installed a brand new one. I know the siren is new because now the wires are routed through the inner fender and the alarm has the new plastic feel.

I pick up the car and the guy says it might have been b/c my + battery terminal connection is almost falling off. I split the lead b/c I tightened it down to much a few months back. Today, I replaced the terminal w/ a new one and it didnt fix the problem.

Any idea? It randomly chirps/wont chirp. And it makes me nervous b/c someone can break in and no siren will be heard.

Hopefully they did not just tag into the old alarm harness. If so it could be giving the same problems that you are having. I would look for a short on the siren lead. If they did not use a groument when they went thru the firewall. It can cause the siren to give a weak chirp and cause all kinds of issues.

you can also check the black/white stripe on the siren itself and see if its grounded.

Double checked the wiring and ground and everything is good.

This damn alarm is pissing me off so much. Since the new one was installed the chirps work about 5% of the time and seem to work more often when it is raining but not always.
Now when I arm the alarm usually it will only lock/unlock the drivers door, but when I manually lock the doors w/ the drivers side lock/unlock button they all unlock/lock fine. So I am assuming it is a problem w/ the alarm.

I've had it for about 3 weeks and havent had anytime to take the pos back in.
