alarm wont work
So i have a 1996 honda civic ex and recently bought a viper 3105 alarm system and got it all finished up or so I thought and I went to test it and the alarm armed and then i opened drivers side door and alarm went off but was very quiet and then the alarm wouldn't dissarm and i tried to start the car and it did start up so what did i do wrong? I reazlied after that i can run all the wires in dkp so thats why mine are all over the place. much appreciate thank you.
I got the car to dissarm and arm now but the siren sound very dim and i wired the yellow wire to same spot as ignition for the killswitch relay Am i able to do that? thank you
status update. so i red into another thread and i saw that the yellow wire was suppose to run to ingition accesory and I read that the white black wire running to fix box from iginition was an accesory so i tapped into that and went to start the car and whenever clutch was pressed in the starter would try starting even when it was already on so i removed that wire and still was doing it then disconnted the green and black wires and it stopped, so obviously somehow the start was getting 12v whenever clutch was pressed in even while running
You have miss-wired the alarm.
Alarms red lead, [power] connects to the white at the ign. switch
Alarms yellow lead, [switched power] connects to the black/yellow at ign. switch.
The starter cut relay is installed on the black/white lead at the ign. switch, [cut black/white lead and install relay to the two cut leads, [green and black leads from relay connect to cut black/white starter lead] orange controls the start cut relay..
It is important that the yellow lead from the relay is connected to a "true ign." lead, [hot in run and start] like the black/yellow, [just like the alarms ign. lead.
The black ground lead needs to be grounded to a good chassis ground point, use the same ground point to ground the siren, grounding "in the door" is not a good ground. 94

Like FCM said, change your ground to either the same point as the siren, or a good solid BARE METAL point then retest.
If you ran it all the way to your battery, it's fine it can stay. It's just that running it to the white wire in your ignition harness would have been easier.
