jdm gsr having problems after installing into car
whats up guys.....
Ok so i recently installed a jdm gsr into my integra, prior to this engine the orginal motor that was in the car was a obdII gsr engine that for reasons i wont discuss had to be taken out and another motor had to be put in and now this jdm gsr engine is now the new engine thats in. Well, im still using the orginal harness that came with the car, so after lining up the plugs i realized that the green plug thats right by the vtec solenoid has no connector to go into so its just hanging there. which throws a code of 21 and 22. So im assuminb that the jdm gsr did not have this plug?.....Also im throwing a code of 54 which when i looked it up comes up as crank flucuation sensor. and lastly, my speedometer doesnt work since the install, but thers no code saying the speed sensor is messed up...My question is what can i do so that this plug for vtec will work?....new computer?...and if you guys can help me out on the problem with the other codes.

You will need a Vtec solenoid with a pressure switch(thats why that connector is unplugged), and the JDM OBD2 GSR didn't come with a crank sensor... so you need to swap out oil pumps in order to run that sensor. Or you can just get a JDM ECU and it wont throw those codes anymore.
Yeah my friend told me that it dint conme with a crank sensor but he wasnt too sure. Now if i get the jdm ecu, would i still need the solenoid with the switch or would the jdm ecu not read that?
If i swap out the oil pump, will the computer automatically pick up the crank sensor or will i have to do more work? thanks

you dont have to swap out the ecu you can trick the ecu into thinking its there. http://technet.ff-squad.com/ckftrick.htm
i just did this same thing last week.

just for my knowledge, would i need nething extra if i didnt do the ecu trick, cause i just got anew pump from honda, and it says that the sensor is integrated with the pump. but the new pump doesnt look nething different. if i install it would it just pick up the signal or would i need more parts

i always had to swap the sensor over from my old motor. it should have a hole for a screw right of where the crank is and the sensor sits right there.
