Default Outlaw Race Turbo Question

Before I spend lots of $$$ on the Precision HP4272 they call it the outlaw turbo is it legal? They take a GT42 76MM turbo and cut down the inducer to 72MM and modified/make a new compressor cover so you end up with a 76MM turbo that meets the rules because it is 72MM at the leading edge but 76MM right behind the leading edge

Rules:

Limited to a maximum 72mm turbo, where the maximum compressor housing inducer diameter is 72.78mm, measured at the point where the leading edge of the compressor wheel meets the housing.

The key word is leading edge....

Sure is legal if you ask me.

Roger, why take it to PM when you can clarify it publically?

This is the turbo I have had on my car for the whole season and it is perfectly legal by all rules. It is not what you are describing though. I even had it on the car last season for the outlaw race. I still have the silver R on it.

This is the same exact thing that turbo's direct does with all the 74mm stuff. Cut the wheel down to meet the rules.

if you look at the rules they are pretty clear but i have stated before if there is a question or something that a competitor isnt sure about they should contact me thats all. if its an issue of where there is a question because the rules arent clear enough the posted rules would changed for everyone to see.
