battery dieing problem
I just got a h22 hatch last week, its been running perfect till today i went to shut my car off and the fan for the heater wouldnt turn off, so I came out a little later and the car was dead, my friends pushed started me but then the speakers or radio wouldnt work right, im guessing its some sort of wiring problem, anyone know were i should look first, thanks, need a car to drive
I'm thinking bad switch for the heater fan, the wires fell off the radio that give power to the speakers.
Drive the car, remove the battery cable after you drive it so it doesn't die.

how do i fix the switch for the fan, just pull off the buttons, thx for the input i was thinkin the same things, just wasnt sure if they could be related because they happend at the same time
Fan for the heater OR the radiator wouldn't turn off?
If the battery was dead enough, there wouldn't be enough time to for it to recharge right after a push start, which could explain the radio problem. All that the alternator could put out was probably being sucked up by the dead battery.

OK, "h22 hatch" does not mean anything, MM&Y of car and trim level would be more help.
You said, " the fan for the heater wouldnt turn off", do you mean the blower motor?
If so, can you change the blower motor speed or turn it off at the climate control head?
Is it a stock HU, [head unit/radio] or has an aftermarket HU been installed? 94

ya the heater blower dosnt turn off, i have the fan turned all the way off on the console but it still stays on, and I drove the car today and it stoped? guessing a loose wire somewere? band spring in the switch?

The blower speed switch supplies the blower motor with a ground, through the blower resistor pack, the blower motor gets 12V+, [switched] directly from the blower fuse or relay, depending on MM&Y of car.
It sounds like you have more then one problem, on one hand you can not switch off the ground to the blower motor, [blower speed switch] and on the other hand turning off the ign. switch does not cut power to the blower motor, remember both the bower motors power and ground is switched, the power is switched by the ign. switch and the ground is switched by the blower motor speed switch, speed is controlled by running the ground through resistors, no resistor for full speed then through 1, 2 or 3 resistors for the other 3 speeds.
BTW you did not say if all of the speeds worked, or what the MM&Y of the car is. 94

the car is a 92 dx, the settings still work, i can turn it up and it will blow harder but when on 0 it wont shut off, sometimes when i hit a bumpe or something it will stop blowing for a bit so im guessing a loose wire somewere? But I have always been able to turn the blower motor on while the key was out, the console is out of a different car and is grey.
