ive got a obd1 b16a with itr cams being the only modifications done to the motor. ive noticed a different kind of tick other than the usual honda tick. its lower in pitch and only happens during idle (700-1100rpms) after the engine gets warm during a cold start you cant hear it... its pretty steady in pace and when you rev the motor it seems as if it goes away. i cant tell if its coming from the head or somewhere else. ive checked the valve clearances and they are right where they need to be. ive also pushed down on the middle rockers to see if the lmas where messed up however i dont recall there being any problems with them bouncing back up... ive got no clue what it is. ill post a video soon

Do a valve lash adjustment set the intake to and exhaust between 0.006 and 0.008

 

if its not the usual valve lash "tick", Id look at those LMA's again.

 

all f my b16's have always done this n been fine

 

thanks for the replies. ek9poorman i did set the valve lash to those specs. i dont know i think it may be the lmas. one of my good friends is a honda tech ill have him take a look at it. in the mean time. no driving the hatchy.
