Default (US) 99-00 SI brakes/sway bars on (US) 96 EX?

Can I put the SI disk brakes and/or sway bars on my 96 EX coupe? If so what all is required? I need help fast and if possible a complete list or a how to if there is one. I found a SI being parted out and I would like to upgrade some things on the EK. Thanks

what is needed though? Obviously the sway bars are bigger on the front and the stock EX doesnt even have a sway bar on the rear. I can feel it majorly at high speed the rear end of the car has some roll and doesnt rebound as fast. As for the brakes... what is needed and is it even worth it?

Front brakes are the same on EX/Si so no need to swap out.

Rear brakes you need at least the disc spindles, ebrake cables, and brake hoses. You can do a complete trailing arm swap or just unbolt the drum spindle and bolt the disc spindle on.
Rear sway you can pretty much bolt right on. All 96-00 control arms have the holes in the control arms for a sway bar and the holes are in the subframe for the sway bar brackets.

You can just "bolt it on" but I'd recommend fabbing up a set of backing plates to reinforce the subframe. I don't think you'd have any problems with the Si rear sway (tearing out subframe) but you can't be too safe, IMHO.

Front sway is not quite as easy. You either need to get Si front lower control arms along with the sway bar, bushings, and end links. OR you can get the Si sway, bushings, and get 240SX front sway bar end links and bolt it up to the stock cast iron lower control arms your EX already has.

Although it's not necessary, a lot of people put the 4040 prop valve on when doing the rear disc swap.

^ thats what i'm looking for thank you. I just want to make sure i get everything and not come home and now i'm missing pieces or something wont go on for my brakes. So will the SI trailing arms and lower control arms screw up the geometry like camber, caster, toe...?

No. Come on, its the same car.

In terms of the reinforcement plates for the rear sway bar, you won't have any trouble with the stock Si sway bar. anything larger and you WILL need some plates or you will rip the subframe.

I'm just now getting into cars so theres a lot I dont know, ask me anything about a motorcycle or ATV and i'm like an encyclopedia. I'm used to forks, swingarms, a-arms... and things from other models usually not bolting up and usually when they do your geometry gets out of whack. What about ABS? and for subframe braces ASR is the only one I know of I think its $190 for just the plates.

Mugen USED to sell just the plates back when I had my Si.. I don't think they do anymore. The SI didn't have ABS and to my knowledge, neither did any US 96-00 EX.

Yes, ABS WAS an option on 96-00 Civics. EX for sure (I've had 3 now that had it) and, I have heard, LX's it was an option.

Certain years of EX coupe, EX sedan, GX sedan and LX sedan had available ABS.

The US Si is the only EM1 I'm aware of that didn't have ABS. Other countries all (or mostly?) had ABS on the EM1.
