my buddy just bought an 89 si that has had a zc swapped from an integra and some minor cosmetic work done to it.

in any case, you have to have his clutch _all_ the way to the floor in order to shift. and if i remember correctly, it doesnt offer any real resistance anywhere in its range. its been a while since i had my rexes and tegs, but i remember having plenty of play and what not with all of them.

im a total mechanical newb, so i started by googling and searching here. i found people with way worse problems and seemingly unrelated problems under the same topic title. this car shifts just fine and everything else works, the clutch pedal just seems to not do its job until you have it absolutely to the floor.

so, my question is this: can you simply "tighten" the clutch pedal? is it just some sort of cable going from the pedal like an e-brake or somesuch?

in any case, im just looking for some more info and a possible fix, even though nothing is broken. haha.

 

Yup. There is an adjusment (plastic nut) That is attached to a threaded sleeve on the Clutch arm. Thighten it to decrease play in the clutch. I tighten untill the clutch feels stiff then I back out a bit untill its just right.
