Default Tein Flex vs BuddyClub Racing vs Cusco Zero-2, help on Japan

Edited: I have just added one more option. The Cusco Zero-2. Let me explain: I´m a bit afraid of buy a USED suspension. Sure, we can search for some oil leaks, but I think, nothing more than that. We don´t know how many miles it was used, or will last. So I started searching for some brand new options. From some brands, I have come to this (Cusco Zero-2). I can get them for $1100. So, for now, what could you choose. I´m almost getting this Cusco.

Previous post:
Hi All,
Sorry creating one more topic about it, but as I´m in Japan, we don´t have all the options you have there. I´m on a budget, and want to buy a used coilover for a EG6. I have found this two models(actual pics):

Tein Flex $800

Buddy Club Racing

For the price, I´m thinkin on get the BD, but seems that the BD Racing are very stiff. I prefer the most streetable if possible.

So what would you get between them on this situation (price).

Very thanks, and sorry for my english.

Hi, it´s 85% street, 15% trackday.

Cusco: F8k / R6k
Tein: F9k / R4k
BuddyClub: 12k / 8k

I think for my purpose, should be the tein or cusco. Now I need to decide if th price diff, is better get the cusco $1100(new) or tein $800(used). Is the price diff to low, to risk a used one?

Thanks.

Pass on the Tein. Are you really going to spend 15% on the track? If so, BC. If not, Cusco.

Just a question. Using stiffer srpings on the rear, my car should oversteer more (I know it depends on lot of factors, but on theory?)
Thanks!

3 trackdays per Year. Just that.
I daily drive the car 5 times per week going to work.

Maybe the Cusco is the best choice in my situation.

Try setting the shock to the softest setting and lower the collars so the shock has no load. Do the "compress test" to each shock make shure that the rebound in uniform speed.

With only 3 track day a year I would go with the Flex and stay away from the BC's. I have owned both and the ride on the BC's N spec was insane I can't imagine the racing spec for a daily driver.

Also it looks like all the shocks you have posted have Type R lower control arm mounts, so I hope you have Type r lower Control arms on your EG.

The other option you could check out is brand new Koni/GC combo from Thmotorsports.com they sell it for about $900USD and they could most likely ship to Japan for a fee. Lifetime warranty and brandnewness

Also if you have about $1250 plus shipping to spend. Pm AMR Andy. Lifetime warranty and custom to your specs! I will have them as soon as he gets on it and puts my coilovers together!

correct on rates, the flex are a bit mismatched with 9k-4k, using the 8k tein spring out back will help balance the car. 9k-8k is a fun combo on a max performance street tire. cusco might not be bad either. my guess is you would enjoy both

Your math is terrible. 3 times a year versus 5 times a week is 15%?

Go with the Cusco.

Thanks!

it will lessen the understeer..make the handling feel more neutral(oversteer more would not be the proper statement to use). obviously other factors play a big role with the car. the driver and his/her technique is a major role also.

Hi, your are right about the BC, as my main use is daily drive, it will be overkill for me.
About the picutres, your a right. I even didn´t have noticed this detail. But about the Cusco (brand new) they are specificaly for the EG6, I have checked with cusco, and they say that on the catalog too.

About the Koni/GC probably with shipping, this $900 set, will be more expensive than the Cusco Zero-2 ($1100 for me here). Is it a good deal?

I´m really deciding to get the Cusco, mostly becasuse It is one of the cheapest coilovers I can find here from a good company. You never know what to expect from a used suspension.

Thanks.

Hahahaa, sure! I´m sorry. As yo see, almost NO Track.
I think the Cusco will be the etter choice in my situation too.

Thanks!

Yeah, I understood. Very thank.

So, I think I have already decide on the Cusco. I´d like to thank all of you, for helping me on this.

if you really want to spend that much, wouldn't the Koni + GC be better? you still get custom rates too. If you did more track i bet the others would be worth it.

never experience with tein or buddy club, but I have cusco zero2 for almost a year now and I don't have any complaints about them and customer service from Nukabe master distributor for cusco are great.
