Can I make my car faster by fixing the squeaking noise?.....
Ok... this is the thing.... my 92 si currently is in good running condition but whenever it's idling it makes a weird squeaking noise....my friends say that I need a valve adjustment... also whenever I turn on my car there's a loud sharp noise which my friends say are my pulleys or belts or something... i dunno....
... anyways i was just wondering whether or not i can take advantage of replacing whatever doesnt work properly with performance parts instead of OEM parts.... please advise... tahnks....

loose valves would give a ticking noise, it is most likely your power steering belt or altenator belt. tighten them up and you wont squeak anymore... it wont yield any significant hp increase.
it's prolley your belts....it won't make your car any faster but it will cut down on the wear of the belts, which is just as important. you can always take the temp fix and spray some belt dressing on the belts
if it's your valves...........it would make a ticking noise. if it's screaching, chances are it's your timing belt, varying how many miles you have!
