Default LS vtec newbie here, got a overheating problem.

Ok so I just recently picked up a 92 Eg Si w/ a LS Vtec plant. B18a1 block, b16 head.

Here are my symptoms.......

Expansion tank will be completely full after 25 minutes of driving, as if the cooling system is being pressurized internally.

Car will over heat after 25 minutes

No white smoke

No coolant leaks

Fan works

Heater works normally

What I have done to try to fix this stupid problem........

Replaced t-stat

Replaced Radiator

Have tried to bleed the cooling system, several times

Pressure tested cooling system, both cold and hot.
Cold - held pressure, no drop, no leaks
Hot - pressure drop of was only 3 psi or so after about 5 minutes, no leaks

Performed leak down test
All cylinders were low leakage, 20%, 18%, 17%, 15%

No bubbles in the coolant during leakdown test.

No rainbows or oil mixture in the coolant

No milkshake oil from what I can tell

Have had a lot going on lately but i'm going to put a water pump in it this weekend and go from there. I'm suspecting that this isn't the end of this issue but i'm trying to get away with fixing this for as cheap as possible. Deep down i'm suspecting that I warped the head which is causing the overheating problem. I need another point of view on this problem, so I turn to you HT. Any input is appreciated.

Sounds like the Water pump. My old GSR did all that. I never had a thermostat and I found out it was the water pump cuz I could not feel the water surging through the RAd hoses. Normally the weep hole leaks on a Water pump issue. Mine did not.

I'll try it and see what the results are. Thanks for the input.
