What did you have for Fuel Management. If you say the FMU there is yur problem. Also how much boost were you running and who did the install?

you had a lack of fuel therefore detonated, that will melt your piston everytime. that or your ignition was too far advanced and while you were boosting it wasnt retarded enough.

Heh heh oh I think he was retarded enough

Just kidding sucks to hear man...this certainly does empasize the need for tuning especially if you're boosting. As the others asked, I'm interested to hear what Fuel management you had..

The person who did the install is a honda tech and he didn't install the high flow fuel pump included in the kit,

Well that would be your answer. This is a perfect chance to get it sleeved. Give vince@goldeneagle a call to find what works best for your plans.

to the "honda tech"

A fuel pump alone would likely not have prevented failure. You needed some method of fuel tuning - like standalone or piggyback ECU or, at a minimum, a fuel pressure riser. It's all about the tuning. There is a fragile balance you must maintain when adding forced induction on a car that was not designed for it.

Any idea how much boost you were trying to run?

Good luck,

Andrew

the kit comes with a FMU, so when it tried to raise pressure, the fuel pump failed...makes sense
