Default Swap from D16 to D15

It will be my first time doing a swap.
The car is a 93 Delsol, I'm taking out the D16 and putting in a D15... I know... don't ask, oil starvation ftl

So anyway, can anyone direct me to a thread, or maybe a website that covers the swap from the first to last nut? From lurking around I found it should be plug and play and all... but I don't want to miss a step, overlook something and mess it all up. I've done my share of mechanical work but I've never been down the swap path.

what D15? It should be completely plug and play. What motor did you ahve before and what one are you putting on there now? because if you didnt blow your old head you can swap it on the new motor.

The Sol currently has a D16Z6, the "new" motor going in is a D15xx(coming out of a 94Hatch DX I beleive)
I thaught about doing the mini-me swap thing, but I read it's more trouble than it's actually worth so I dropped the idea. I just want to ride my Sol hassle free

This is not a picture of my motor, but the bottom end looks exacly like that. The hole in the block is located at the same place, and it's about the same size. So my D16 currently looks like that

damn thats pretty crazy. The Minime is not at all a hassle. Just get he headgasket, and rent a TQ wrench. Pull out the little oil jet and ur set. Since the car was already VTEC the wiring is there and so is the ECU.

I thaught I read somewhere I had to get a different timing belt and yada yada yada...

The headgasket on the D15 is brand spankin new, so is the timing belt and water pump. I think for now I'll concentrate on getting the D15 out of the Hatch and into the Sol, and maybe look further into the mini-me once I get borded of the D15. Winter is coming soon anyway lol...

So yeah, I really need to do where to start and where to end with the swap.

d15b with a VX head? WTF dont use that head. its like flat, idk if the valves even clear properly but it has INSANELY high compression. I'm not even sure which bottom end you have but it is like either 11.55 or 17.1. Just use the Y7 head on it again, unless the head is destroyed.

its pretty much straight forward, especially if the other motor is complete. Disconnect all the sensors, the axles, and shift linkage, exhaust, fuel, etc. Then pull the motor out. Then drop the other one in and reconnect everything.

Where the dizzy bolts go in and where the timing cover goes on the other side. Or on the Coolant return line.

The Delsol is standard, the hatch is auto...
Would I be able to pull everything from the top? Engine with trans attached? Or will I have to jack the car high enough to slide it from under? I'm thinking it will be easier to attach the trans to the engine while the engine is out of the car...

So basicaly...
drain coolant, motor oil, trans oil
disconnect all harness, throttle cable, vaccum lines, coolant lines
remove axles
attach engine to crane
remove engine mounts
remove engine
all that in reverse to put back in

Is that it?
To attach engine to crane, I screw a bolt into the dizzy mount, screw a bolt where the timing belt cover attaches, attach a chain to both bolts and link the chains to the crane?

yes basically. All you need is a strong point or stong bolt to attach the chains to. And yes its alot easier to put the tranny on the motor when its outside of the car.
