Is there white smoke in the exhaust? Oil in the coolant or coolant in the oil?

The high pressure build up in the cooling system and the white smoke in the exhaust suggest a blown head gasket. You may want to compression test the cylinders and do a cylinder leak down test.

Not always. This is surely a sign of a blown head gasket when you find it, but its absence does not exclude a blown head gasket.

Remove you spark plugs and do a coolant system pressure test. See if it holds pressure. If not, find out if its leaking from the cylinders or from another area
