Leaking rear window 91 Hatch
Anyone know any cheap alternative to fix leaky rear windows on a hatch? I dont have any money right now and it rains everyday around here.
if it sags down you could just readjust it. The seal could have failed also. Post a pic of where it is leaking. Caulk would fix it but would make a big ugly mess.
yeah i def DONT want to caulk...i talked to my buddy at the auto parts store hes gonna hook me up on some generic wheather stripping.
The cheapest fix I've found is just pull the weatherstripping ALMOST off and just lightly put it back on the seam. Shut the hatch to let "it" push it down. And spray some silicone around the seal too.
If it's the window itself, you may have to search a glass company.
My 86 si hatch would leak up by the hindges along the seams. The P/O had installed hard bushings and any jaring would go to the weakest part. (clear rubber cement fixed it)

nope.
OP are you sure your window is the source of your leak? the brake light seal is usually where it leaks from.
have somebody spray the hatch with a hose and sit in the hatch and look for the leak.

Im sorry guys, its the quarter glass that folds out, not the rear glass. My bad for not properlly (sp?) explaining myself. It leaks at the top of the passenger side quarter glass and drips down onto the floor, and into the little cubby hole thing in the armrest on that side. The window itself isnt closing tightly enough againt the weather stripping. Sorry for the confusion
i had the same problem i just fixed it
Okay Were the latch is to open and close the rear window, there is a cover pop it off and you will see to screws loosen them up ( careful they are usually stuck Dont strip ) and adjust it in and tighten them up and it will seal tighter against the stripping and wont leak in the rear window best of luck any questions pm me
