I will be painting the CRX soon , I only want the outside to be painted and things like the door jambs and stuff , the trunk and bay wont be possible since My car has to run to get to the booth an hour away because I really just dont want to nor do I have the cash to tow it.

so heres what I want to do...

I was thinking of spraying the trunk/hatch area with rubberized undercoat ? anyone done this? or maybe some other type of textured black paint? has to be black.

also is there any REALLY good rattle can I should use to do my engine bay? that way I can do it before the motor is in and it wont look as bad. Its deff not going to be a show car. but I would like it to look good.

i wouldnt use undercoating in the trunk, and i wouldnt rattlecan the bay. if youre going to do it, do it right and just pay for towing/ find a friend with a truck and tow it that way

 

What about like texture coat? I want it to be like a bedliner kinda. I actually would almost rather have that than paint it lol. just because Its not a part of the car that is supposed to look pretty. and I dont wanna have to worry about scratching the paint on the inside because I put alot of **** backthere when I go to the salvage yard and other places , I know alot of people think this is ghetto , which is ok because It is forreal but it just seems cool to me , Only thing is that there will be so much black in the car its gonna get hot as ****.....

Now I gotta decide on paint too lol whats your guy's thoughts ?

1st option is - WRB from the wrx ,

2nd option is - dupont candy irish green

3rd is WB 111 , Its basically a white pearl I got it off a ford edge from my work.

 

you sound like the king of hack...take the time, save up and make prior arrangements and do the car right by stripping it completely and repaint the entire inside out. you are just going to kick your *** later after its done. i just got done spraying my car and lets just say it was a headache but now that its all back together, it payed off.

use rust-o on the E-bay and jams if you want to go cheaper on there...i cant think of his name off hand but he has about a 12 page post of all the work he did with rusto paints

 

i rattle canned rubberized undercoat in the trunk area of my hatch and its not too bad seems pretty sturdy did it about two years ago and still holding up good. I dont remember the brand of it but but i do remember that i kept using the can when it was pretty much empty and it went everywhere and it just globbed out and didnt come off. One thing is make sure to have your windows open and let it air out for awhile before driving it. Shouldnt be too bad though i drive mine about an hour afterwords and it didnt really bother me. And i know what it feels like tpo work on your car on a budget ive rattle canned so many parts on my car and aside from being the wrong color(milano red instead of roma red) it came out pretty decent.
