car pops out of 5th on freeway
I went on an hour and a half drive today on the freeway and my car was popping out of 5th gear a lot. It probably popped out 25 or so times in the hour and a half.
I have a 94 gsr and I was going anywhere between 60-80 mph and it was happening at all speeds.
I even tried holding the shifter in 5th but even with me holding it, i could feel it jerk out of gear. The car has shown no symptoms of this prior to this drive.
What is wrong with my car? Id appreciate any input..

You could be having synchro problem, but I would check your MTF first.
If that's the problem, then replace it with Honda MTF. For a GSR you would replace with 3 fresh quarts, you can go to your local Honda dealer and order buy it direct from them.

Yea definitely check your fluid that happened to me and it ended up being the axle seals were leaking and causing the trans to go low on fluid. Check your fluid level and also check both axle seals for leaks.
thanks for the fast replies. Yeah Im thinking its probably my tranny fluid. If my syncros are bad shouldnt my car be grinding into gear?
I know one of my axle seals are bad and tranny fluid has been leaking. I have not changed it in quite a while so it is probably low

What would you guys do in my situation? I have no access to tools or a place to work at the moment, all of that is at home. If i bring it to a kragen will they lend me socket wrenches and whatnot?

however, the tranny only takes 2.2 quarts, don't overfill it.
Like a few people have already said, your fluid could be low. Mine used to do the same thing because of low fluid.
Is it possible for you to change the fluid, or add some before you take your trip back home?
