more battery and kill switch ??s
okay just bought a kill switch(didnt know they were so pricey):
can i mount it internally instead of outside the car?...i dont want it to be noticable...or if it has to be outside can it be under the car or behind a bumper?
I have had a Optima gel cel in my car for a while thats in a marine battery box which i know is not allowed...but does it matter since its a Gel Cel?...does it need to be vented even though it has no fumes?...
i wanna run the car soon...TIA
oh yea this is all in a crx

Incorrect, BoM.
It depends on what kind of races you are going to be doing. But NHRA (which is the biggest drag racing sanctioning body) says it has to be mounted on the rearmost part of the vehicle of the car (not inside the car) and must be easily accessible from the outside of the vehicle (not underneth the car). My suggestion, and it's been mentioned in many other threads on this topic, is to put the switch behind your license plate, then when you get to the track, take your license plate off to reveal the switch.
Also, what kind of switch did you get? You may want to make sure it's NHRA legal.
You can read all the rules for yourself here: http://www.nhrasportcompact.com/2002/rules/index.html
EDIT: yes, you still have to have the approved battery box, and you still have to vent it outside the car, even though it's sealed.. Dumb, I know...but those are the rules.

What races are you going to use?
I assume we're talking NHRA rules.
The switch has to be accessible from the exterior. However, you can mount the actual switch inside the car, and simply install a push-pull time mechanism (that you could probably remove when not racing, simply put a rubber stopper or something in the hole).
Check out the NHRA rules and the Longacre Racing website, specifically
http://www.longacreracing.com/catalo...t.asp?catid=14
Also be aware that you're going to have to do more then just kill the battery, but also the entire power to the car. Search for various threads on this board.
