I have been searching for 2 days and have not found anything which helps me. I got a 94 B18B1 that I am going to be dropping into my 94 EX 4DR 5spd. The problem comes into play with the harness. I started plugging the harness that came with the b18 into the engine and had 3 left over plugs on the trans side. I have now come to learn that I was given and obd1 b18b1 auto harness, can I still use this harness with my swap or do I need to source a 5spd b18b harness?

I used and Obd 1 Ls harness on mine. Im sure that there was only 1 plug I didnt use.

 

But did you use the auto or manual harness? This is what I cant find an answer on. Can I use the suto harness with a 5spd or not?

With all the B16/B18 swaps out there, Nobody has come across this issue? I guess I will keep searching since nobody has used a auto harness on a 5spd swap before. If I find the answer or just install it and see if it works I will post the answers to help somebody else in the future.

 

I'm like 90% positive you can use the harness, you'll just have those extra plugs.start it up and give it a shot. If it works awsome if not then source an LS m/t harness.

Or you could use your d16z6 wire harness with slight modification. As in extending your O2 sensor plug about 1.5' and your IAT sensor plug about 8" and be left with the two extra vtec plugs chillin in the breeze.
