i currently have a lx tranny being worked on and im thinkin about buying a cx tranny from a junkyard just to have my car running for right now. ive heard the lx tranny has longer gears than the ex tranny, but i was wondering if the cx tranny had longer or shorter gears than the lx or ex trannys.

 

yeah cx has horribly longer gears too. 1st gear goes to about 50 2nd to almost 90.

 

wow that is nuts, how would it do with a mini me swap and stage 1 clutch with a lightened flywheel? cause i assume acceleration is horrible too.

 

^ correct, if you want accleration you need a ex or si tranny.

mods on the motor wont change the gearing. save the headache, get the ex/si tranny...
