Not exactly the same. There are some differences between the 90-93 cylinder heads. With a 92 EX-R you would be looking for an A4 or A6 head. As for the head bolts it will be OK to reuse them as long as your not planning to boost the engine.

Without engine modification they all bolt up. Yes.

Remember that they use a different ECU/tune, cam and a 4-2-1 tubular exhaust manifold setup. A4-A6 are the higher performing heads. Not sure how a stock cam & exhaust A1 head performs with a PT6 ECU.

i do know that the PT6 ecu runs the butterflies for the A6 at about 4200rpm. (pt6 for sale, PM me)

i also hear that it is recommended you change the head bolts, but my dad has done a few head work and used the old head bolts, still running 220k strong, nissan just as durable as honda.

thanks for all the responses. so any head would bolt up, but if i don't get an A4 or A6 it wouldn't run properly because the ecu is tuned differently? i assume A4 and A6 cylinder heads are only found on EX-R?

No, The Canadian EX-R is actually a type R equipped with a red top Euro-R H22A7.

lol Yes the EX-R is the Canadian equivalent to the US EX.
