transmission problem
i have a 92 cable ls tranny going into my 2000 ls swap it goes on good but their is a gap between the tranny and the motor as i noticed i seen pins from the tranny and the motor that works as spacers should i took these off for my tranny can line up perfect let me know ppl...
i wouldnt take them off no. are you sure you have the right clutch? if you happen to have a 90-91 clutch installed and you are trying to slide on a 92-93 ls tranny, it wont fit. it will appear that the dowels are preventing the trans from sliding on but in actuality the larger spline simply cannot slide into the smaller input of the 90-91 clutch.. the output spline on a 90-91 trans is 1" and on the 92-93 it's 1 and 1/32".
i have the right clutch for the 92 ls cable tranny it fits perfect the only thing stopping it from being bolted on are those pins i know if i cut them off it will bolt right up but is that a good idea?
i dont think you'd even have to cut them off, i wanna say they're like pressed in there. you might be able to pull them out with some vice grips. my concern though is i'm really thinking that the tranny should slide right on no problem with those dowels there. they should slide into the matching holes on the engine. i dunno maybe its like some weird design thing that was changed on the obd2 engine block.. i haven't personally done exactly what you're attempting and i'm not there so i cant say for sure.
al try to post pics but the pattern i think is different from 92 to 2000 they do not go into each other so my best chance is maybe pulling them off wit a vice grip for it can let the tranny bolt up wit no spacers

Don't run the trans with no dowels. They make the input shaft and the crank operate on the same plane.(Maybe check to see if they're bent, new ones are like 2dollars a piece at the dealer). You will damage things by removing them. You will just have to wiggle the trans around to get the spline to seat right. B series bolt patterns are all the same. Maybe try taking the clutch disc off the motor and see if it slides onto the input shaft. If so, re-install the clutch on the motor and try again. You'll get it. Just don't run it with no pins!
DO NOT TAKE THE PINS OFF. Pull the clutch cable thing up, it should pop right in. I had same problem with my d series tranny. The pins slide right out with vice grips but they bend easily and you want then there.
