Default how do i know which b17 tranny i have?

so i recently changed my axles and realized when i got them (for my 2000 si) that one of them didn't fit right. i went back to the store and we realized that i have a b17 tranny. mind you there's no tag/stamp visible so i didn't know this ahead of time and it's been converted pretty good to hydro, i guess the guy that sold me the car failed to mention this.

now, im in the process of buying my new clutch and im noticing theres a difference in splines between the 90-91 and the 92-93. how can i find out which one i actually have so that i don't mess up on the order?

any help would be useful...

Not sure what you mean about the differences.....a ys1 tranny is a 92-93 model year and shares both the same internals and clutch as newer hydro transmissions anyway.

ALL b series tranny's 92+ are the same fitment

Right, but I'm not sure if its a 90-91 model trans. The clutch for that model is different

I believe b17 was only 92-93 so it may be an 90-91 ls tranny if the axles aren't fitting

Hmmm it was specifically b17 axle that was purchased.

it's not a possibilty, it's a fact. I mentioned it earlier. The 90-91 tranny's are of no concern, as the gsr did not exist then, and neither did any version of the ys1

Isn't a b17 tranny only cable?

okay i have one more question... cruising at 80mph on 5th gear my rpm is at about 4200, wouldn't this mean that it's definitely a ys1?

YS1 doesn't specifically mean GS-R, all '92 - '93 Integra trannys were stamped YS1. It does sound like a B16/B17 tranny though.
