Help w/ 90 Civic lx d16y8 help
i did the dual point to multi point in my friends car a couple of months ago and the car ran fine. I did the swap from d15b2 to d16y8 it came off a 99 Civic EX. I changed the intake to the obd1 intake manifold and used his stock tranny. it starts fine but it doesn't rev past 3000 rpm. im using his stock obd0 dizzy and a stock obd0 Si computer just to see how the car runs with out the vtec. how can i fix the part that doesn't let it rev past 3000 rpm.
Is it hitting a rev limiter and bouncing off 3k?
Have you tried opening up up the throttle body butterfly by hand instead of pushing the accelerator pedal?
Thinking maybe the cable isn't adjusted right (sort of tricky with the Y8 bracket) and you aren't able to get the throttle to open up enough.

Appears that he's got the MPFI OBD-0 used from his MPFI swap that ran fine.

BTW - DPFI dizzy would throw codes and wouldn't run the engine not going to get to 3k RPM with the engine running on 2 cylinders XD

im using the SI dizzy. yes i tried opening the butterfly by hand. it doesnt sound like its hitting a rev limiter it sounds like its not getting enough fuel into the cylinders. it boggs after 3000 rpm
