Icon2 IACV question

okay so i recently purchased a '00 civic dx, and its not running a CEL and i went and got it ran at autozone and its something to do with my IACV which ive seen several posts where people take out the filter and clean it with carb cleaner which i would like to do to see if it makes to irregular idle go away. ive looked all over on google and trying to find a keyword for this specific model is difficult because almost EVERY post the person has a B-series motor. so if anybody has a link or a DIY link can you please post it?

thanks in advance.

I had the same problem and cleaned out the IACV. I also found out that the throttle was VERY slightly sticking, this for some reason caused my idle to be acting weird and as soon I fixed the throttle cable, the problem went away.

Replace it, its cheap, dont fix something that cost 20 bucks to replace.

Dont use shitty air filters this is one of causes of IACV damage. The fibers from the filter get wrapped around the heat sensor wire from the iacv and tell it its staying hot when its not so it doesnt adjust your air flow and you can run rich or lean depending on problem, untill the sensor fouls out over time.

Yeah when you clear ecu codes it could take up to 15 drive cycles for it to reappear.

It will still have a IACV. It will have 2 coolant hoses and a connector on there, I THINK.
