Default Viper 350?

Is this a good model or should I be spending more on the higher end models? I dont need remote start and that type of stuff. 2 shops recommended the Viper 350. I want a 2 way system so I know if something is happening. Just wondering if I should be spending more or not.

what more are the higher more expensive Viper systems giving you? I was told just things like remote start and motion sensors which would not be needed but maybe theres more.

the alarm is only as good as the install. viper 350 is a decent alarm at a very good price ... it just your basic door/trunk trigger, parking light flash, start kill, and door lock ...

is a "decent" and "basic" alarm all I need? I'm taking it to a place that has done many installations and they are an authorized Viper dealer/installer.

i would add a shock extra senor run it to the back of the car... built in shock senors can only do some much... this way both the front and back of your car will pick up any shock from the front and back half of the car... i use to do this alot on trucks cause just one shock senors in front just don't cut it ... if you have a 5 or 6 speed i would do a main relay kill instead of a start kill. start kill can be bypass by just popping the clutch down a hill...

With more expensive alarms systems from dei you are paying range. Range is inportant if you want to receive the page from the car. Look into any dei model that supports "sst" Thats the unit you really should go with.

I held off on the installation this weekend. I started comparing the models more and what you get. Not much besides more accesory slots and different remotes until you go to the remote start and I see the range is much better and they do cost a bit more but why have a 2 way system if you end up out of range. I want to do it once and do it right and not wish I had added this or went to this model. Remote start on a manual car though? That could be hazardess if your car isnt in neutral. The only concerns I saw was the battery life on the remotes and the remotes being too sensative. I was reading the one model they said not to put the remote in your pants pocket because it will push the buttons and you walk out and your car is running and what not. Hopefully there is a low battery warning because I think you charge them with a USB cord or something. So as of now I need help choosing a system. I really dont need remote start or the windows to roll down before i get in the car but the range is what i'm after. Installation wise I was searching threads and saw the basic and professional ways... I dont really know what shop would be willing to remove my dashboard to install it.
