i found this kit on Ebay and ya i know that ebay stuff is crap but its going to be my first rebuild motor.
So i rather not spend money on the best things, just in case i mess something up.
Im going to rebuild the motor and install a supercharger (jackson racing). I have a 97 civic coupe EX
Also i will not be using the rings, oil pump, timing belt. the things i would be using is pistons, engine bearings and gaskets

doesn't look too bad, but why won't u use the rings, oil pump, or timing belt? they're just aftermarket parts, but if you're looking to go oem then i don't blame ya. then again, if u supercharge it, it probably won't last long enough to need the oem parts anyway. pushing another 100,000 miles with the supercharger is very doubtful. not busting ur *****, just being honest. f/i motors rarely see high mileage. i'd say 50,000 tops

 

That kit looks like junk. Dont waste your money

 

others from this site told me to use OEM parts because the S/C wont create that much power to require to use aftermarket pistons.

what do you recommend then?

 

Dont put a supercharger on your car because you will be disappointed.

 

It still puts strain on your motor. If you going to rebuild, use aftermarket forged pistons. JE, wiseco, ect.

 

whats the highest compression should i use

 

nevermind i found a turbo kit

 

if i go s/c do i use premium gas
