Looking at buying an SI....Need help
Hey, im looking at a 90 civic si that seems to be in pretty good condition, the only problem is it has a little bit of ruse on the rocker panel right in front of the rear wheels. Is this hard for a body shop to fix? And about how much should it run me? If anyone can help it would be great as i am going to look at the car in about one hour. Thanks. BTW he's selling if for $2200. obo.
Cost to fix depends on who's fixing it, and how much rust there is. Generally, they'll cut out the bad metal and weld in new metal, prime and paint. Shouldn't take more than a week. Around here, in the north east, where rust was a dealer installed option package, the average going rate per fender is $300, materials and labor.
Rust is so common in these parts of the car. I haven't seen one without rust in a long time. Whatever you do, you're probablygonna have to take rust as a given.
