grinding noise when steering right on idle
So i know the best way to diagnose this problem would be to take it somewhere where they can lift the car but wanted to know what people think my problem may be...
Everytime I reverse out of my driveway and then starighten the wheel to the right, theres a grinding noise that comes from my left driver side wheel that causes the steering wheel to vibrate. Ive also noticed while im in park or idle, if I steer right, the same noise comes from the left wheel as it seems to shake the tire in the process of moving it to the right.
FYI..this grinding noise never occurs while driving and steering to the right...

did you check your lug nuts to see if they're on tight you have to lift it up to see if it's properly tightened and it could be that your wheel bearing is bad and you might have to replace it
i think in this case it's a brake issue. if one pad is worn low, and the other is ok, when you put the car into a turn in one direction, the rotor shifts slightly to the opposite direction, making contact with the pad. reverse directions, switch pad being contacted. the vibration could be related to a warped rotor's slight contact... on, off, on, off.. with the pads.
if you feel confident doing it yourself, check the brakes on the axle in question (i'm guessing the front). there will be clear evidence of brake related grinding noise when you inspect them. otherwise have a shop you trust do the check out and describe to them what you've noticed.

oddly I had a similar noise when the bearing in the power steering pump wore out... quite strange really....
i'm leaning towards wheel bearing in your case though

Ill check out the brakes..however, I just had them replaced about a year ago( all four of them) and this grinding seems to just happen while at idle or parked and not applying the brake pedal. Ill have it on park, and when I turn the steering wheel to the right and while im looking outside the car, the left tire sort of vibrates along with the steering wheel...
