alternator problems
hey guys. question. I just bought a new alternator to use for my swap... I have a obd1 gsr motor in my 98 civic... I put the obd2 alternator (new one) in... and it doesn't seem to be keeping it charged at all... same problem as the last one... which was a obd1 alt.. I've checked... the plug the white cable.. and the relay... everything seems fine... any ideas what can be causing this?
autozone brand new... the thing is it did the same thing with the old obd1 alternator. which I had to swtch plugs cause my harness is obd2.. but... this new one is obd2 so put the original plug on the harness and plugged it in... idk I feel like I've checked everything...
hm, it's not typical for an autozone alternator to be bad right off the shelf.
if you had said advance auto parts, different story. i'd tell you to just go get your money back.
Unless by any chance was it a "world class" brand alternator?
And another dumb question, which i'm sure you've already considered but i must ask anyway. Condition of the battery?

the alternator is duralast.. and the first battery was crap I had charged it so many times... then I got another one.. almost new.. same deal. do you think maybe it can be the ground that goes to the battery? its a little loose.
fix you ground problem. but when the car is running is the battery light on? and with it running put a muti meter on the battery and see it you have around 14 volts if you do it is charging and you most likely have somthing draining your battery.
