Default need new ecu after blox IM install?

I just rebuilt my 95 gsr motor and im installing a blox IM on it. Ive heard that the car wont run right with the stock ECU since it will be looking for the butterflies in the stock IM. So it wont run as good and it will throw a code, this true? Do I need to get a diff. ECU? I have an untouched P72 in my car now.

any and all info will be helpful. If I do need a new/different ecu im looking to puchase it asap since I'd like to get my car back together and on the road this weekend.

*if needed my other mods are... ITR pistons, Comptech intake, Greddy header.

The car will still run ok with the stock p72.
It will not throw a code due to the butterflies.

The car would perform much better wich a chipped obd1 ecu mapped for your engine setup.

So I could just get my P72 chipped for setup and dont need to get a chipped P28 like I heard?

as long as your GSR is OBD1, your P72 will work perfectly to chip.
(OBD2 ECUs can't be chipped as easily)
