Headgasket leaking a little oil .. ORING block
after doing a headgasket on a customer car , we found a little oil on all four corners of the block .. re did the job once already , replace cometic hg , still leaking , (block and head was freshly decked ,)
come to find out customers has an O Ring Grooves on his FRESH AEBS 85mm block .. with no oring installed on the block , can it cause this to leak oil on all four corners ?
never dealt with oring or its process .. can anyone shed light on this subject ?

The grooves take a small copper wire available from most Hardware stores, when you torque down the head the copper crushes a little into the gasket and gives you a better seal. First thing I would of done was contact whoever installed the sleeves/machined the groove and ask ga. wire to use.
IDK how not having o-rings on the sleeve installed would cause oil seepage at all 4 corners of the block, the sleeves are isolated by coolant I would think the oil would have to be coming from the head and not due to the o-ring's, unless somehow the top of their "block guard" is transporting the oil.
85mm is already pretty thin, got a pic of the sleeve with the groove installed?

Yea if it was leaking that bad, you would see it mixing with the coolant. Either way it sounds like you need to fix the o-ring problem. Like dude said, get with the machinest and get that fixed.
As for the oil on the block, it sounds like the thing isn't vented to catch can. Mine is vented off the block only, and all my head seals leak like a sob. If your not venting the head, i'll bet thats the issue. The pressure inside is just wiping out all the seals in the head....cam seals, valve cover, and the o-ring on the dizzy. Check that out, I thought the same thing, then looked REAL close with led light, and u can see the oil trail coming from the dizzy and the cam seals.

its definatley not mixing with coolant... car has been driving around all day with no more leaking..
we basically copper sprayed the cometic and it hasnt given any problems yet ..
it was just a question out of curiosity , thanks for all your input ..
