Help! 06 Civic, lights flickering, doesn't start!
My moms 06 Honda Civic LX didn't start this morning when she went to turn it on, I tried jump starting it but that wasn't the problem, when I turn the key, all the dash lights, (mph, abs, srs etc) pulsate or flicker. Under the hood the engine isn't turning all I hear is flickering, from the starter I presume, also when the doors are locked the horn sounds incredibly weak, barely noticeable, same when I panic the car. When I tried to remote start it, the alarm went off, and the horn sounded fine, I had the remote start installed about 3 weeks ago but no problems since then, also my Oil Change reminder is down to 10% oil life left, but that shouldn't be the problem, (plus I run Syntethic and it's only been about 3000 miles) and I checked the oil levels and they are fine, any help is much apreciated since my mechanics closed on Mondays, Thanks!!!!
check the battery terminal connections too.
i've never had this with any other car, but when i disconnect my 8th gen civic's battery for whatever reason and then put it back on temporarily without fully securing it, my dash will do the same thing as you describe.

Thanks guys, it jump started on a second try and worked the whole day but died the next day so it might be the battery, I'll get a new one and see how that works.
I'd be willing to be a lot of money its your battery. Thats exactly what happens when it dies. If you get no turn over, the lights flash and all you hear is "tick tick tick" your battery is toast! (tick tick tick is the fuel pump engaging).
on an 06, its unlikely to be a battery terminal problem (corrosion is the usual problem). So Battery!
